The 1998 Monte Bello is a beautifully aged gem, blending 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, and 1% Cabernet Franc from the iconic Monte Bello Vineyard in the Santa Cruz Mountains. With a modest 12.4% ABV, this wine showcases finesse and elegance. Despite a challenging vintage, meticulous vineyard care—including canopy thinning, reflective foil for ripening, and sun exposure—led to fully ripe grapes and remarkable balance.
